Why is there no client's name search?

"The Groomer's Write Hand" provides a simpler and faster way of finding client names.

Instead of:

Clicking on 'File', clicking on 'Search', typing in the persons name (which would have to be spelled exactly right), then clicking on the 'Start Search' button to search your data files..

Just do this:

Scroll down the alphabetical list of client names on the main screen.

Tip: You can also quickly find a clients name by clicking anywhere in the client names list (to give it the focus) then press the first letter of the persons last name. For example if the persons name is Jane Smith. Press the 'S' key on your keyboard. This will quickly take you to the first person who's last name starts with an 'S'. You can keep pressing 'S' until Jane Smith is highlighted or just click on Jane Smith.

What is the difference between the demo version and the registered version?

The demo version has a limit on the number of clients you can add. Other than that, there is little difference.

When I buy the registered version, will I have to re-enter all of my Client information?

No. The registered version uses the same data files as the demo. You will not loose any cards. Having said that, play it safe. Backup before you install the registered version.

Where do I enter appointments?

Appointments are entered under the 'Next Visit' column on the 'Pet Names & Dates' screen.

To get to this screen from the main 'Index Card' screen open the 'View' menu and click on 'Pet Information'.

Is my version compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7?

The current version of The Groomer's Write Hand is compatible.

If your version of The Groomer's Write Hand is 3.03 or lower the answer is no. Any version below 3.04 will not work and can not be supported on Windows Vista or Windows 7. I strongly suggest that you do not install an older version. What version do I have?

I am upgrading from an older version of GWH. How do I transfer my client files?

If your older version is 3.03 or higher just backup your data files using your old version of the GWH data backup program then restore your data files using the new version of the program.

Note: If your older version of the GWH backup program will only let you backup to floppy disks and you need to backup to a USB flash drive to transfer your files to a new computer click here to download a newer version of the GWH data backup program that will allow you to backup to any drive on your computer.

For more detailed instructions on transferring your client files from ANY version click here.
